Sheri - Agility Instructor

In 2006 Sheri got her first puppy Reggie – a golden retriever and started taking classes at Pawsitive Steps. She quickly got interested and involved in Canine sports and started taking basic obedience, rally and agility classes.
Reggie became a certified therapy dog through St. John’s Ambulance when he was just 2 years of age. He works at the Cancer Lodge in Prince George with her mom – Joyce as well as being one of the few dogs in Prince George that is certified to work with kids. Sheri and Reggie work in one of the local schools with children weekly. He has also participated in many regional agility events and even placing 5th place podium when he was 10 years old. He also achieved his Agility Trial Champion of Canada Title.

In 2008 Sheri got a ½ sibling to Reggie – a golden retriever named Josie. Josie proved to be quite challenging with many issues ranging from fear of everything, shut down, and separation anxiety. Believing that Josie would never participate in canine sports due to her fear issues – Sheri kept training her in an effort to build her confidence and give her better life skills. When Josie turned 4 she actually had enough confidence that she was able to compete in agility. Josie is still competing in Agility and is just a few short runs short of her Agility Trial Champion of Canada Title.

In 2012 Sheri added a third dog to her family – a border collie named Ted. Ted turned out to be a high drive and busy border collie. Ted became a certified therapy dog through St. John’s Ambulance when he was 18 months of age. He also works at the Cancer lodge in Prince George and enjoys dressing up for the patients on a regular basis. He is well on his way to becoming a successful agility dog.

Sheri is very interested in the science behind dog training and continues to attend seminars with international presenters regularly. Sheri’s upbeat personality and genuine interest in the “why’s" behind dog training makes her a fun and informative trainer
