Rival’s Lone Red Seat

aka “Fenway” DOB May 21, 2013
Border Collie
Red and White 20.75”
Breeder: Margaret Lambkin/ Rival Kennels, ONT

Fenway Fen came to us in July of 2013. I got him just as I started to teach 10 days worth of agility camp so he spent his first 10 days living in our motor home with us and being passed around at camp!
He is actually related to every border collie I have owned! I knew from the day he was born he was mine, had to convince Margaret of that but she finally let me know I could have him. Was the longest 7 weeks of my life
Fen has turned out to be more than I could have hoped for! He is funny, sweet, silly, a gorgeous jumper (I did put a LOT of work into his jumping skills!) Thoughtful, driven, the whole package!
Our first trial was on the day he turned 18 months old. I was waffling about whether he was ready for the ring or not. I had only actually run him through 2 full courses in my back yard 2 months prior to that. I took a chance and entered. Well he was a dream to run! 9/9 clean rounds on his first trial out! It was almost too easy! He handled like a pro!

FenwayI don’t know what the future holds but I do know I am very excited to be on this road with him. I love every moment I step out to train him. He reminds me of a combination of Bryn and Feyd. Thoughtful, picks up verbal cues very quickly, long lanky body like Feyd had, very bendy, and so eager to work, and seems to know what I want before I even get it out, just like Bryn!

Rival’s Play Station ( Ava x Jive)

aka “Sony” DOB Feb 15, 2016
Border Collie Black and White 19.25”
Breeder: Margaret Lambkin/ Rival Kennels, ONT

Sony came to us in April of 2016. She is Fen’s Niece. I absolutely loved Jive and to have him crossed into Fen’s line was awesome. This cross has produced some amazing dogs. Sony and her sister Kaza, owned by one of my students, are both fantastic working dogs. They are incredibly athletic. Sony is very smooth to watch, she has incredible acceleration and is super light on her feet.
She was 20 months at her first trial and she ran 9/10 clean rounds. One round was a refusal. Zero bars, no missed contacts. Second trial was a one day trial and she went 4/4 clean. She was every bit as much fun as her uncle Fen!
She went on to earn her AAC ATChC title in 9 AAC trials ( we don’t get trial a lot.) She also attended the UKI Canadian Open in Sept 2018 and WON the Nationals round 1. A lot of the courses were beyond her at that event but she looked great!
We have lots to work on but I feel like we are developing a strong sense of teamwork and I am interested to see where it takes us!
Sony is a quirky, LOUD ( in life, not in work! ) funny little dog. She has her challenges with some issues in the trial environment, especially loud barking dogs, but we are working through that and she is handling the ring just fine!

Rivals Poetry In Motion

aka "Verse" (Play x Verve)

Out of Sony’s Sister and the amazing Verve Rocks. I have always loved Verve and wanted a puppy out of him. Verse is a lovely combination of drive and thoughtfulness. He has a super sweet temperament and comes with a fantastic drive to work. He LOVES his toys. COVID gave him a late start in his agility career but we are starting to get back at it!
